The next Afternoon Tea meetup will thus take place at the Athenaeum on Sunday 29th June at 4.30pm. I have made a booking for 20 people.

Tea: http://www.athenaeumh...
Location: http://www.athenaeumh...

The Pink Tea is £24.50, or £29.50 with a glass of pink champagne. The tea is described as "delectably whimsical and exquisitely feminine", so the men attending will need to be secure in their sexuality. :-)

As our events are always over-subscribed, please only RSVP Yes if you are sure you can make it. Our RSVP policy is:

1. If you RSVP Yes and then cancel within three days of
the event, you will be suspended from the group until
after the following meet.

2. If you RSVP yes and then don't turn up (which includes
changing your RSVP on the day of the event ?),
then you will be suspended for the following two meets.

If you cannot make this meetup, please RSVP No.

Please note that you cannot reserve places for guests, so if you want to bring someone else along, they will need to join the group and RSVP in their own right. This is to ensure that places are reserved for those keen enough to join.

The hotel operates fixed-time sittings, so please arrive promptly.

Please remember that we'd like everyone to RSVP to every event - whether it's Yes or No - so that we can tell which members are active in the group.

If you can join us, we look forward to seeing you there.

I love this hotel, had a great Sunday lunch there last week so I'm sure afternoon tea will be out of this world. I can hardly wait until it's time to organise the return visit in a couple of months time.

Hi Ros, unfortunately there's no way to let you know, but as Kathryn says, check the site in the few days leading up to the meet.

This is a lovely hotel. I visited last year with my Sister.

Who attended?

    •  Tea was excellent and in a beautiful environment - tastefully furnished with hilarious papier mache artworks on the walls. The service was professional, polite and attentive. Now onto the food and drink - I can heartily recommend the subtle peach tea, the yummy home made strawberry jam and scones and the wide selection of heavenly cakes! Definitely worth a repeat visit.
    •  Service was good and very polite and there was a good amount to eat
    •  Great ambience and an ideal setting for an afternoon tea. The tea wasnt too bad either
    •  It was lovely to meet see some familiar faces and to meet new members. Service might have been a bit slow at times but I guess they're not used to a group of 18 people on a Sunday, but the staff were very polite and a pleasure to deal with. The food was delicious and the pot of tea seemed bottomless.
    •  Beautiful surroundings and exquisite tea as I promised when I recommended this place. Thought they could have been a bit quicker bring the cakes round, but I am a greedy pig!
    •  It was lovely, everythin an afternoon tea should be - and the pink champagne was delicious. My sole gripe was with the crumpets - they were out of a packet and hadn't been toasted properly - everything else was great.
    •  everything was excellent except for the tea, couldn't drink it. Very friendly group, well organized. Thanks for organizing.
    •  I really enjoyed it and am really pleased I was able to go. The service was perhaps not as slick as I would have liked to to be, but the atmosphere, food and company were great!
    •  Very elegant place to have tea. A bit disappointed with the crumpets (next time will definitely have the tea cakes instead) but the rest of the food was very enjoyable
