The whole month is very exciting for me as well. I am going off to the States on 22nd for a holiday in LA and then the world tea expo in Las Vegas, which is the world's biggest trade tea event. There are companies from all over the world, including Japan, Sri Lanka, India etc. and for people who only enjoy tea like me, it's paradise. I will be attending business meetings, and doing certification.

Have a look here: www.worldteaexpo.com

I'll give a short presentation about the event at the tea meeting!

ALSO we are going to have beautiful cakes from a chef at the PARIS Ritz Hotel, one of the top two hotels in the whole of France and he will give our group a talk about the cakes!

Plus as much tea as you like !!

So I strongly urge you to please RSVP and keep this date free. We have room for up to 50 people so I can be quite flexible this time!!!

I am looking forward to seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and although the early part of the year was busy, I am happy to do more events each month.

So thanks everyone in advance for your support and I look forward to see you there

Cheers!
Rich

wow - i can really see a lot of hard work went into this event. i was really impressed to see the intro to tea - very educational. i would probably have preferred more mingling between people - don't know how you would do this in such a "formal" setting though. the tea gift was a nice surprise and so was the buffet - i really enjoyed the selections and the appetizers too! were there 3 items missing from the agenda? i thought one of the pastry chefs was going to do a talk, rich was going to do a talk, and there was to be a clip from the documentary? i sure hope we can all go for a screening of the movie - tea shopping would be cool too :) all in all, excellent opening to a side of tea that's new for me, great setting, great people, and great view!
    •  Hi meetup tea lovers, I felt yesterday was good, very good, I don't like to say "great" because I am a perfectionist and always want to make it better for you guys. But the cakes were amazing, mountains of artistic sweetness which never seemed to get smaller. And you seemed all happy so if you're happy, me too. Thanks a lot for your awesome support and I look forward to see you at the next one. I will try to do one in July :) All the best Rich

We had variety of desserts with buffet style and 3 kinds of tea. The afternoon tea which I had expected is traditinal cake stand , so the all-you-can-eat style is a bit surprising, because of its renowned hotel. Yet, we can eat all kinds as much as we want , at any time. The cake dishes never be empty. Like other cake buffet places, served in a small portion and some dessert like mousse, tarts, and chocolates are just with different taste to add up the menu list. One thing which makes me think bit dissapointing was that they dont have cool tray for certain desserts, so such cakes missed its most tasty temprature. Other than that, I liked the Strawberry cake best and fruit tea. We had a showroom and got a tea before we leave. The scenary from the 45F is fantastic as we can look over the tokyo tower and beneath is the city of Tokyo, Roppongi.
